Grants
There are four types of grants available from the Catherine White Holman Legacy Fund.
1) Self-Development Grant
2)Â Arts and Culture Grant
3) Crisis Grant
4) Interest -Free Loans

Self-Development Grant
$1500 deadline June 1st, 2011
This grant is intended to help folks realize their dreams; one of Catherine’s favorite sayings was “Don’t dream it, be it”. Many LGBTQ folks don’t have the money to spend on things beyond basic living expenses. If there is a course you’d like to take, something you’ve always wanted but couldn’t afford, or something that you need to help improve your life in some way, this is the grant to apply for. Please explain in the application what you plan to do with the money if received, and how it would help improve your life and enhance your health and happiness. Please attach any supporting letters or documents, if possible.
Arts and Culture Grant
$1500 deadline June 1st, 2011
This grant is intended to help poor queer artists fund making art. Catherine was a great art appreciator and supporter and believed art was not only something to make the world more beautiful and a key to revolution, but a way to heal and open our hearts. Please explain in the application how you intend to use this money towards your art, including a budget; You may use this money towards living expenses while creating. We expect to get a report within one year of receiving the grant describing how you used the money.
Crisis Grant
ongoing- up to $800
This grant is offered on an ongoing basis to folks in need; if you can’t make your bills one month, or have emergency expenses such as vet bills, lost ID, etc. this is the grant to apply for. You can apply for any amount needed, up to $800. Once the money for this grant is gone it will not be renewed until next year, so please only apply for what you truly need to get by and leave some for others. Please state in the application how much money you are requesting, what you need the money for, and provide copies of bills, if possible.
Interest-free Loans
ongoing- up to $1200
Interest-free loans will be offered on an ongoing basis to folks that are experiencing financial hardship, to a maximum of $1200. Please state in the application how much money you would like to borrow, what you will do with the loan if received, and provide a letter of reference if possible.
